Flagstaff
Flagstaff is a city in and the county seat of Coconino County in northern Arizona. Flagstaff’s combined metropolitan area has an estimated population of 139,097. The city is named after a ponderosa pine flagpole made by a scouting party from Boston to celebrate the United States Centennial on July 4, 1876.
Tucson was founded as a military fort by the Spanish. Tucson is the second most-populated city in Arizona behind Phoenix. The city is 108 miles southeast of Phoenix and 60 mi north of the U.S.–Mexico border. Tucson is the 33rd largest city and the 58th largest metropolitan area in the United States.
Sedona
Sedona’s main attraction is its array of red sandstone formations. The formations appear to glow in brilliant orange and red when illuminated by the rising or setting sun. The red rocks form a popular backdrop for many activities, ranging from spiritual pursuits to the hundreds of hiking and mountain biking trails.
Prescott has many Victorian style homes. Prescott has 809 buildings on the National Register of Historic Places. The tallest house in North America, Falcon Nest is located in Prescott, on the slope of Thumb Butte. It is also home to the downtown historical area known as Whiskey Row.
Ahwatukee, is an urban village of the City of Phoenix, Arizona bordered on the north by South Mountain Park and Guadalupe Road, on the east by Interstate 10 and the cities of Chandler, Guadalupe, and Tempe, and on the south and west by the Gila River Indian Community. It is the southernmost of the city’s urban villages.
Scottsdale, it’s known for its spa resorts and golf courses, including TPC Scottsdale. Farther north, trails wind through McDowell Sonoran Preserve, a desertscape of hills, rock formations and cacti. Nearby is Taliesin West, architect Frank Lloyd Wright’s former home and studio. Downtown’s Old Town Scottsdale has 1920s buildings and 19th-century olive trees.
Paradise Valley
Paradise Valley, is a small, affluent town in Maricopa County, Arizona. The town is known for its expensive real estate, luxury golf courses, shopping, and restaurant scene.Despite the town’s relatively small area and population compared to other municipalities in the Phoenix metropolitan area, Paradise Valley is home to eight full service resorts, making it one of Arizona’s premier tourist destinations.
North Central Phoenix, Anything along the old bridle path that runs up Central Avenue north from about Camelback Road past Glendale Avenue is considered prime real estate. There are several older, nice subdivisions, and good schools. The public schools are in the strongly ranked Phoenix school district. The first homes were adobe territorial style, built in the 1930s; building continued until the 1950s. Neighbors take great pride in this ‘hood, and the annual home tour is a popular event.
Arcadia, offers urban dwelling with a rural feel, and it’s 15 minutes or less from the airport and downtown Scottsdale. Bordered by 44th and 68th streets to the west and east, respectively, Camelback Road to the north and the Arizona Crosscut Canal to the south, Arcadia was once home to orange and grapefruit groves. Lots are relatively large and irrigated, dotted with some of those original citrus trees. Arcadia’s streets are wide and the schools in this part of the Scottsdale School District are exceptionally good.
Tempe, near Arizona State University. Maple-Ash, a historic Tempe neighborhood just southwest of Mill Avenue and University, is a funky, fun area with older houses on large, irrigated lots. Maple-Ash has the most varied architecture in the area; homes were built between 1900 and 1950 and range from farm cottage to ranch house. More manageable is University Park, east of Mill, where the homes are a little newer and the lots are larger. Several new condominium complexes have sprouted near ASU.
Chandler, is a city in Maricopa County, Arizona and is a prominent suburb of the Phoenix, Arizona. It is bordered to the north and west by Tempe, to the north by Mesa to the west by Phoenix, to the south by the Gila River Indian Community, and to the east by Gilbert.
Gilbert, is a town in Maricopa County, Arizona located southeast of Phoenix, within the Phoenix Metropolitan area.. Once known as the “Hay Shipping Capital of the World“, Gilbert is currently the most populous incorporated town in the United States. It is the sixth-largest municipality in Arizona, and the fifth-largest in the Metropolitan Phoenix Area.
